At first, there are the relationships that break your heart. The relationships that make you isolate yourself from anyone and everyone. The relationships that make you think you’re worthless just because someone decided to leave you. It’s the relationships that make you despise so many other females, just because they’re other girls. Relationships that break you so bad, that you swore to never be in another one again.

Then there are the relationships that make you feel jubilant. They give you a reason to leave everyone behind because supposedly, that person is the only one that matters in life because always and forever will stay always and forever. The relationships that help you realize things about yourself, him/her, and you guys together as a couple. The relationships that teach you how to love another person. It’s the relationship that no one wants to forget, the one so many people dream of but so few of them ever succeed. The relationships that make you feel as if anything is possible, that let you feel like you can be who you are and that person will love you no matter what.

But then, there’s just that one relationship. The one where you were fooled, and fooled really good, to think that they meant their words of always being with you, staying with you, caring for you, loving you. Where you feel so betrayed, so mad at him/her but more of yourself to believe that they were actually worth the time spent. The one where you can’t even find words to fully describe how much you despise the situation entirely. No matter how many times you replay it over and over in your head, you just cant understand how the best of the best could just vanish so rapidly. You’re so deep in denial that you can’t even believe that it’s happening. Every promise they said they would keep, broken. All the times spent together, forgotten. But through all the drama, whatever bullshit he/she gave you, you got something out of it. You finally learned to trust nobody, except yourself.

It’s the relationships that let you love yourself, and the other person, separately that can last a life time.
